The goal is to have a server that can be reached via \\webdav.domain.com\folder in Microsoft Explorer using WebDAV protocol. That will enable SlideProof to get library files regardless of local network.

Requirements:

  • Linux
  • Apache webserver
  • webDAV modules dav and dav_fs

Setup instructions:

Testing

  • Read / Write access from Microsoft Explorer
  • Test Read / Write access from PowerPoint with SlideProof

Other Recommendations:

  • Disable root directory listing
  • Disable normal webserver (port 80)
  • Enable Automatic Security Updates
  • Filter traffic on source IP
  • Setup to use HTTPS by default
